We understand that the validation process takes a lot of time and resources to work through and can interrupt day to day production verification metrology. To help speed up this vital process and get components into production ahead of project deadlines, Verus will partner with our clients to provide a fast and efficient full dimensional validation service using our bespoke metrology fixtures and our extensive range of inhouse metrology equipment and software.  Verus can offer this validation service on equivalent metrology machines to our clients which guarantees confidence in the metrology data.

In addition, we can also install a client metrology machine at one of our metrology laboratories, run all validation metrology on the machines with our bespoke metrology fixtures and ship the metrology machine, programmes and fixtures to the client site for installation and qualification ahead of the commencement of production metrology inspection.

Verus Metrology Partners are delighted to introduce our new modular metrology fixture kit V-FIX4. Since 2008 Verus have been providing high quality bespoke metrology fixtures for both CMM and Vision machines alike and can now bring all of that experience and expertise into producing a modular fixture kit.

Designed and manufactured to the same high standards entirely in the UK and Ireland, Verus offer the ultimate in efficient, repeatable and robust systems for the accurate location of customer parts. The kit is designed to be as unobtrusive as possible to allow as much of the measurement area to be accessible, whilst upholding the highest structural integrity by manufacturing all of the key part location features from hard anodised aluminium.

The intention is to offer the manufacturing world the same level of accuracy and consistency from a modular kit that Verus are renowned for, with their bespoke solutions without compromising the ease of use. Each kit has a selection of interconnecting links of various sizes to ensure that the location features are always in the right place and that access for any of the measurement sensors (Optics, Probe or Laser) is not impaired.

Core Deflection & Twin Shot Moulding

Core shift is a frequent problem with long, slender, and not necessarily thin-walled products, such as vials, test tubes, pen barrels. It is often experienced in moulds for thin-walled containers.

Core shift can result in undesirable variations in wall thickness which will affect the final shape and mechanical performance of the part. The core shift simulation provides detailed information about the movement of the mould core and its interaction with the polymer flow process as the plastic is being injected.

The overmoulding analysis consists of a 2-step process where a normal Fill+Pack analysis is performed on the first cavity (first component stage), which is then followed by a Fill+Pack analysis on the overmoulding cavity (overmoulding stage). The consecutive overmoulding stage on the second cavity uses a different material from the first analysis, and the first component temperatures are used as the initial temperatures.

Cooling analysis is used to evaluate and optimise cooling lane design. Working in partnership with the mould tool designer, multiple cooling designs can be analysed. This is critical to the overall process as cooling design will have an effect on part filling, freeze times, warpage and the overall cycle time.

Fill, Pack & Warp

Flow analysis includes the filling and packing stages of the injection moulding process.

These stages produce some of the most important results for evaluating a product design for injection moulding manufacturing.

Warpage results can be used to identify areas of excessive warpage and shrinkage, referencing product drawings and tolerances, it is possible to take point to point measurements from the analysis results to ensure the critical dimensions will be within tolerance after moulding.

Metrology Fixture Qualification

We strongly believe in delivering a Metrology Inspection fixture that will perform and function to the highest standards. To support this, we perform gauge R+R on all the Metrology Inspection fixtures we provide.

Once the gauge R+R has been completed, the results are loaded in to our statistical software package. Only once it has passed our strict criteria is the Metrology fixture released for delivery.

Along with the gauge R+R report, our fixtures can be shipped with a programme ready to be loaded to your CMM or Vision system metrology machine. Onsite support can also be provided for installation and Qualification.

Tests and validations of the programme can be completed and sent to you before shipping to ensure no delay in the Inspection fixture deployment.

We also Recommend Metrology Inspection Fixtures are returned for requalification on an annual basis depending on levels of use. The metrology fixtures will be inspected checked for wear and tear and a new gauge R+R carried out to re-qualify.
