Sub-Contract Metrology is an aspect of our business that’s in sharp focus as our clients increasingly look for sub-contracted services. Be that Dimensional Inspection, a Validation Metrology Service, Calibration & Certification or use of our Inspection Machines.

WE BELIEVE SPENDING LESS CAN MEASURE UP

As part of the revision of Sub-Contract Metrology, we have introduced a new pricing structure. This is based on a half-day or daily rate rather than on the number of dimensions measured.

Additionally, we have introduced price discounts on a sliding scale. This is applicable to all projects completed during each 30-day period throughout the year.

• 5% discount will be applied on the 3rd day of each project
• 10% discount will be applied on the 5th day of each project
• 15% discount will be applied on the 10th day of each project

THE RESULTS?

Jon Stabler, UK Metrology Applications Manager says:

The new structure is more cost-effective for our customers. We are noticing an increased need for Sub-Contract Metrology because clients don’t have the capacity to do it themselves. Perhaps a machine is down or they have an overflow of work they need to get through. Thus, our approach is to work with clients on a partnership basis, often operating as an external department for them”.

Our clients often need to get a second opinion. If they have parts from a supplier that they measure internally but believe might have an issue; they, therefore, send it to us to get an independent check-in in a lab environment by OEM-certified engineers.

Under Sub-Contract Metrology, we also do First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs). This is where a customer wants to make a part, we measure the first article that they have created so they know it is fine to start manufacturing in bulk.

Using our bespoke metrology fixtures, equipment, and software, we guarantee our client’s validation service is completed quickly and to the highest possible standard.

CALIBRATION & CERTIFICATION

One of our specialties at Verus is the certification of non-standard bespoke gauges. Our experts have created a standard procedure for the inspection and testing of such gauges, developed over years of working closely with clients.

In addition, we also calibrate and certify a variety of standard gauges. We provide these services to a wide range of clients across numerous sectors. Our aim is to provide both accredited, traceable calibration and verification of both standard and non-standard gauges.

METROLOGY EQUIPMENT

We have a wide variety of inspection machines. This enables us to provide bespoke solutions to our clients. Our inspection machines are calibrated annually and kept in a temperature-controlled environment to ensure we remain fully compliant with international standards. Furthermore, our expert engineers are OEM-certified and partake in ongoing in-house training and development programs.
